[“Sadie Hawkins Dance” – Relient K]
Or
Ladies Choice for Laughter
I am struggling today. I don’t truly know why and it doesn’t truly matter. This is a well worn feeling and it’s not something to worry about overall. More importantly, the world is struggling right now. There is so much hate and bile being spit across genders, races, political leanings, sides in the toilet paper placement war, pineapple on pizza aficionados… The list is endless. Sometimes, you just need to laugh. So, today, rather than sharing the self important drivel that I usually spout (yes, yes, I know, it’s important to talk it out… I am allowed to feel, blah, blah, blah…) I’d love to share some of my favorite things and hopefully elicit a laugh (this time, not at my expense). I hope one of the myriad things below makes you smile… they have been helping me recently and I just felt the need to share the love and laughter.
I start with this title song… In high school (the one I enjoyed where I had friends, not the other one) two of my best friends and I created a dance to THIS song. It mostly involved bopping back and forth and then having vague hand movements but it didn’t matter. We practiced this shit. This is a wonderfully ridiculous song from a, largely, ridiculous band and I love it. I love the memory behind it and the fact that the cute nerd gets the girl. Rock on.
So, I give you enjoyable things for when you need a laugh… As I did today.

A Poem for Your Consideration
Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
– Shel Silverstein
Lastly, My Spirit Animal for The Year (Yes, I know she’s a little girl… Spirit Girl sounds weird)
This is really just a sampling, but I’d love to have some laughs shared with me. Happy times people, I wish you happy times… Laughs, guffaws, giggles, groans, tee hees, har hars, all of them… I wish them unto you during the good and bad times.
